Armenia to join Earth Hour for the 8th time
This year Earth Hour will take place since 20:30 – 21:30 on March 19, said spokesmen of Earth Hour 2016 global environmental event during a press conference urging everyone to take part in the event.
Earth Hour was launched in 2007 in Sidney, Australia, where 2 million people turned off their lights to combine everyone’s efforts in the fight against climate change. It’s already the 8th time Armenia participates in the programme.
“It is important that every citizen of Armenia thought of their environmental impact, used less energy, only whenever they needed it, didn’t use cars, etc.,” said Head of WWF Armenia office Karen Manvelyan.
The administration of Armenia Marriott hotel issued a message stating that at 20:30 on March 19 the lights will go off at the hotel.
