Arax Mansourian concert in Japan
Armenian Culture Week will launch at Daikanyama Hillside Terrace hall, Tokyo on March 22. Culture Week aims to not only make Armenian culture more recognizable for the Japanese people but also create a bridge between Armenia and Japan, Assistant of Ambassador of Armenia to Japan Monika Simonyan told Hayern Aysor website.
Cultural Week has been organized with the support of Armenian Embassy in Japan, Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Community Institutions, Komitas Union, etc.
The works of young Japanese artist Makoto Maeda and Armenian designer-painter Arev Petrosyan will be displayed during the culture week along with exhibitions featuring Japanese calligraphy with Armenian motifs, a separate hall dedicated to the history of Armenian khachkars and a corner featuring the history Sergei Parajanov’s work.
Armenian Music Festivals on March 24, 26 and 27 will feature soprano Arax Mansourian’s concert accompanied by Japanese pianist Takahiro Akiba.
Armenian and Japanese short film screenings will be held on March 26 and 27.
The guests will also be able to get to know the Armenian Cuisine during the Culture Week.
