Reuters: Pope Francis to visit Armenia in June
Pope Francis plans to visit Armenia in June, Reuters reports citing the Vatican spokesman who said on Friday Francis would visit Armenia, for several days, most likely at the end of June, but the exact dates had not yet been set.
The agency reminds that the Pope triggered a row with Turkey almost a year ago with remarks on the Armenian Genocide. Pope’s comments came against the backdrop of commemorations of the Centennial Anniversary of the Genocide.
Turkey later recalled its ambassador to the Vatican in protest.
