Samvel Martirosyan: 2 out of 3 computers infected in Armenia
For many years, infected computers in Armenia have been widespread: 2 computers out of 3 are infected with various viruses, Social Media and Information Security Analyst Samvel Martirosyan said during “Cyber security development in Armenia: from special regulations to strategies” seminar organized by Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs.
“That is a result of lack of awareness, as a part of the society gets used to infected computers and doesn’t see any serious danger in that,” added Martirosyan.
According to him, Armenia is a “non-normal cyber developing” country. The reason for this is that Armenia being in economic crisis didn’t keep up with the developments.
However, self-regulation mechanisms are developed, and the public learns from its mistakes.
“Through the years, the number of computer internet attacks decreased in Armenia. In 2 or 3 years, the number of such cases decreased twice or trice and this is because of self-regulations. People have learnt from their mistakes,” Martirosyan said.
