Artsrun Hovhannisyan: Tensions maintained on the border and the Line of Contact
The situation on border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and on the Line of Contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan had been tense over the weekend, press secretary of the Minister of Defense of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyansaid.
“As we’ve expected the adversary behaved impudently, so they received an adequate response,” Hovhannisyan noted.
To remind, Armenian citizen, Norik Alikhanyan, 64, was wounded on March 25 by Azerbaijani fire next to his house in Berkaber village. Another citizen’s property was significantly damaged. RA Armed Forces and NKR Defense Army front units resisted Azerbaijani operations in an armed confrontation and stabilized the situation on the frontline, Armenian Defense Ministry reports.
Also, a resident of Taghavard village, Yervand Pirumyan, 27, engaged in agricultural activities, was wounded on March 26 by the Azerbaijani fire. NKR Defense Army front unites suppressed the adversary’s offensive operations.
