Norayr Badalyan: State policy needed for fight against religious organizations illegal activities
There are 67 religious organizations operating in Armenia, leader of Armenian Nationalist Movement Norayr Badalyan said during a press conference.
According to him, these organizations are mainly implementing orders.
“Our Church has to become stronger to prevent those organizations of having followers. State policy should be developed towards the solution of the problem,” said Badalyan.
President of Front for Preservation of National Values NGO, Sevan Aghajanyan, who was also present at the press conference, added that there are organisations with four different beliefs connected with French and US Evangelist Church and led by the same person. From above said, we can conclude that these organizations have a completely different purpose.
“There is a gap in the Law on Freedom of Thought, Conscience and Religion. It needs to be redefined or at least it should clarify what proselytism is,” Sevan Aghajanyan said informing that they are going to apply to the police about the illegal activities of these organizations.
