The 12th Aram Khachaturian International Conducting Competition announced
Aram Khachaturian Foundation announces the launch of the 12th Aram Khachaturian International Competition, which is held in the category of “Piano,” “Violin,” and “Violoncello” from June 6 to 14, 2016 in Yerevan.
This year for the first time the competition will be held in the category of “Conducting,” classical-music.com website reports adding that the aim of the competition is representing and promoting young artists all over the world.
According to the official website of the competition, conductors, who were born after June 6, 1981 are welcome to apply for the competition. The prize for the winner is cash reward in the amount of 10 000 USD.
The deadline for the online application is April 15, 2016.
The Aram Khachaturian International Conducting Competition consists of Preliminary selection and 2 rounds: 1st round, 2nd round (final).
After the Preliminary selection no more than 12 participants will be selected to participate in the rounds of the Competition. Not more than 4 participants are allowed to participate in the 2nd round. According to the special decision of the jury a larger number of participants can be allowed to the next rounds of the competition.
Aram Khachaturian International Competition is a member of the World Federation of International Competitions.
