Levon Aronian disappointed not to play against Carlsen
Levon Aronian is very disappointed about unsuccessful matches during World Chess Championship Candidates Tournament in Moscow, where he shared 4-7th places. According to Aronian, it was a shock to realize that he won’t play against current World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen.
To remind, Russian chess player Sergey Karjakin got the right to play against the Norwegian grandmaster.
“It’s difficult to say how many points I was lacking, but I’m sure I was supposed to end the championship with a “plus”. The fact that I’m not going to play against Carlsen is a real shock for me. Worked so hard, spending so much time in front of the board, just to fail to prove that I’ve grown as a chess player is really disappointing to me,” rsport.ru cites Aronian.
