Each mass media to have up to 50 representatives in Central Electoral Commission
Each mass media is given the right to have up to 50 representatives, which is a sufficient number to cover the events in local electoral commissions. This means that each media can accredit up to 50 journalists in the CEC of Armenia, which will provide the journalists with certificates necessary for accreditation.
To remind that according to the previous version of the draft, a restriction on the number of journalists in polling stations was put.
During the closed discussion of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia, Minister of Justice, Arpine Hovhannisyan said that the new proposal seemed to be acceptable by everybody.
“I have an impression that this new proposal was acceptable for political forces. Each mass media will present a list of 50 journalists to the Central Electoral Committee, and the latter will provide them the corresponding badges,” said Hovhannisyan.
According to her, media has the right to visit any polling station and carry out their duties.
