Armenian Ombudsman strongly condemns Azerbaijani attacks on residential areas and civilians
In his statement, Ombudsman of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan strongly condemns Azerbaijan attacks on residential areas and civilians.
Ombudsman’s statement reads: “According to Ministry of Defense of Armenia and NKR Defense Army, Azerbaijan organized offensive operations on April 1-2.
These rabid operations subjected peaceful residential areas to rocket shelling, resulting in one dead and two injured children.
Ombudsman of Armenia strongly condemns the attacks on residential areas and civilians.
These are international level crimes against the right to life, which should be subjected to condemnation and punishment by international law without any exception. The complete prohibition of military operations against residential areas and civilians is a key element of the international humanitarian law. All civilians, especially children and women should be under special protection.
Ombudsman of Armenia is carrying out a consistent study with the full potential of his status on Azerbaijan operations against peaceful residential areas to draw the attention of international bodies to the issue and to submit it for mandatory discussion,” reads the statement.
