Azerbaijani actions represent an act of terrorism against the people of Karabakh, Armenian Parliament Vice-Speaker says
Azerbaijani offensive actions along the entire Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan are a terrorist act against the people of Karabakh as well as each co-chairing state of the OSCE Minsk Group, Vice-Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov said, commenting on the escalation of the situation on the night of April 1-2.
“This is pure terrorism against the people of Karabakh, negotiation process and each Co-chairing state of the Minsk Group – Russia, the US and France. This brazen conduct by Aliyev is the result of occasional addressless assessments by the international community. Minsk group cannot fail to react to this,” Sharmazanov said.
Armenian MFA spokesperson TIgran Balayan earlier suggested “Baku is rising tensions amidst increasing international criticism on poor human rights record and destructive attitude on [Nagorno Karabakh] peace process.”
As reported earlier, the Azerbaijani military undertook a large scale offensive along the entire Line of Contact on the night of April 1-2 using artillery, armored vehicles, and air force. The adversary hit civilian areas and permanently deployed military units by artillery fire. Karabakh Defense Army downed one military helicopter of the adversary attacking the Armenian positions in the east of Mrav Mountain, as well as inflicted numerous losses of other military equipment and manpower.
Another statement by Karabakh Defense Army reported that 12-year-old Vaghinak Grigoryan killed, two other children wounded in a shell launched from Azerbaijani MM-21 artillery rocket system in the direction of Martuni position.
