Putin calls for an immediate ceasefire in Karabakh
Russian President Vladimir Putin is deeply concerned with the resumption of the military actions along the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, Ria Novosti writes citing Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov as saying.
“Putin calls on the sides for an immediate ceasefire and exercising restraint,” Peskov said as quoted by the agency.
As reported earlier, the Azerbaijani military undertook a large scale offensive along the entire Line of Contact on the night of April 1-2 using artillery, armored vehicles, and air force. The adversary hit civilian areas and permanently deployed military units by artillery fire. Karabakh Defense Army downed one military helicopter of the adversary attacking the Armenian positions in the east of Mrav Mountain, as well as inflicted numerous losses of manpower and other military equipment, UAV and a tank among them.
