Interfax: Five Azerbaijani tanks entered into “boiling pot” in Nagorno Karabakh
The Azerbaijani army units, which also included five tanks, had been encircled in the North-Eastern direction of the Line of Contact, Russian Interfax news agency reported citing its local sources in military structures of Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
“Thanks to the skilled actions of the Defense Army of NKR, in the North-Eastern direction [of the Line of Contact] in Mardakert region “a boiling pot” was formed, where five tanks of Azerbaijani armed forces were also detected. Necessary measures are being taken to either seize or destroy them”, - said the source, which declined to be named.
“The units of Karabakh army are currently taking measures to return a few positions seized by the Azerbaijani forces in Jabrayil region”, - the source confirmed.
“The situation along the Line of Contact between armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan continues to remain extremely tense. The frontline forces of the Defense Army continue defensive combat operations successfully, inflicting heavy losses to the adversary”, - the latest press statement from the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic said.
The press release also contained a video footage of the areas after the Azerbaijani offensive with graphic images of dead Azeri servicemen and destroyed military equipment and vehicles.
“Overall, during the entire period of armed clashes the Azerbaijani side has suffered the loss of more than 200 servicemen, as well as two tanks, two drones and two helicopters”, - claimed the NKR MOD in a written statement.
