Spokesperson to the President of Artsakh Davit Babayan dismissed Azerbaijani statements on unilateral cessation of military operations.

«Quite the opposite, Azerbaijani statement has no connection with the reality. They have announced a cessation of hostilities twice over the course of the last 12 hours and failed to keep their word,» Davit Babayan told Panorama.am

To remind, Azerbaijani side earlier stated it had suspended military operations along the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

Asked what purpose Azerbaijani tactic pursues, Babayn pointed out to Azerbaijani efforts to draw away the attention of the international community and most importantly, its domestic public.  

“They know well no international organization will come to check the situation on the ground, and such statements are aimed at misleading them, although they would fail. This is characteristic of Azerbaijan and their move is a speculation”

“We have been expressing our readiness for a constructive dialogue and a peaceful settlement of the conflict, which does not imply we are unable to defend our independence, freedom, and dignity,” Babayan concluded.
