Serzh Sargsyan: The people of Nagorno Karabakh has only one expectation from the international community
“The people of [Nagorno] Karabakh aspires what the other colonized peoples have always been fighting for. They want to be masters of their own destiny and create their future freely. They want their kids to have a peaceful and happy childhood, they want to live in a democratic country. They don’t have other pursuits””, - President Serzh Sargsyan said in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Wednesday, April 6.
Sargsyan said that it had been for about 30 years ever since 1988, that the people of Nagorno Karabakh felt pressure to fight for freedom on a daily basis and reclaim their equal rights with the other nations every day.
“And they succeeded in their pursuit to go the right way despite the imposed war, illegal occupation and endless violations of the fragile ceasefire. They wish the international community to recognize the rights they have, and only that. I told Madam Chancellor about that, who is well aware of all the nuances in recent history of that freedom-loving nation”, - President Sargsyan said in the press conference.
President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, departed to Germany on April 6 to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the German Bundestag Norbert Lammert and other political leaders in Bundestag.
