Azerbaijan authorities set youth against opposition leader, who criticised military failure against NKR
A group of young people held a protest in front of the house of the chairman of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party (APFP), Ali Karimli, in Baku, Trend.az reports.
According to the report, the participants expressed their pretest against Karimli’s anti-Azerbaijani statements in the social networks. The protesters chanted slogans demanding that Karimli leave Azerbaijan. Among the slogans chanted during the protest were “Betrayers of the motherland have no place in Azerbaijan!” “Shame on Ali Karimli!” “Betrayer of nation!” “Armenian henchman!” “Ali Karimli, clear off from Azerbaijan!” “Clear off, deserter!” and others.
Earlier, the opposition leader Ali Karimli had written on his Facebook page that the soldiers killed in fighting in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic are buried almost secretly in Azerbaijan, as the authorities fear mass gatherings. Also, commenting on the failed military operation of Azerbaijani army in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Karimli noted that the Azerbaijani authorities constantly shouted that “we will take Karabakh.” “So, why couldn’t you take it?” the politician wondered. He noted that the Azerbaijani people will no longer take seriously such statements of the authorities.
