#KarabakhNow initiative group protest in Yerevan
Organizing group “#KarabakhNow” held a protest in the Republic Square on April 8 condemning the recent violence unleashed by Azerbaijan against the Nagorno Karabakh Republic as well as denouncing the international inaction.
“The time has come to present a message to both the RA Government and the international community. People are disappointed about diplomacy,” a member of the organizing group Marine Manucharyan told reporters.
She then added that the organizing group has presented demands to the states and organizations directly or indirectly involved in the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process.
“We demand that Nagorno Karabakh Republic be fully involved in the negotiation process and to ensure that no decision is adopted without NKR population. We call on Russia to stop arm deals with Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan should be accounted for war crimes in international tribunals,” Manucharyan said.
The protest coincides with the official visit of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs to Yerevan; however, as the initiative group informed, the event was targeted at Russia, the USA, France, Israel, CSTO, EEU, PACE, Council of Europe, OSCE institutions and other countries.
The organizing group also issued a statement denouncing the approach adopted by the international community to blame ''all sides’ when Azerbaijan is clearly the aggressor and the attacker. ''It is now necessary to name and shame the aggressor while ending the disingenuous “false parity” of always “blaming all sides” for unacceptable and unprovoked attacks,''
