Seyran Ohanyan presents war crimes committed by Azerbaijan to U.S. Ambassador
Minister of Defense of Armenia hosted U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, H.E. Richard M. Mills, Jr. on April 13, reports the public relations department of the Ministry.
During the meeting, they discussed the large-scale offensive operations unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno Karabakh Republic and the current situation on the Line of Contact.
Seyran Ohanyan presented the peculiarities of Azerbaijani obvious aggression, including war crimes against Armenian soldiers and civilians and other gross violations of provisions of the law on armed conflicts to the U.S. Ambassador. The Minister then noted that he will concentrate his efforts on providing an internationally accepted legal assessment of those crimes.
The importance of active mediation efforts, strengthening a written ceasefire agreement and confidence building mechanisms, were once again stressed.
