War crimes by Azerbaijan to be included in PACE agenda
Debates on the situation over the Nagono Karabakh conflict were included in the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) to be held on April 18-22 in Strasburg.
As the PACE website informs, there has been a request for an urgent debate on “Crimes committed by Azerbaijan during the recent aggression toward Nagorno Karabakh.”
Earlier, there have also been two requests for debates on “The recent and tragic escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” and “The tragic escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan.”
As envisaged by the procedure, the Bureau will discuss the submitted requests before the opening of the session and decide on the title for the debate on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict with a follow-up submission to the Assembly discussion. The Bureau may suggest a different option, which will be presented to the Assembly confirmation with prior consent of the Bureau.
Assembly members, however, have the right to vote against the Bureau decision, which is subject to voting as well.
The PACE agenda is confirmed in the beginning of the session when the exact title of the debate on Karabakh conflict debate is decided, and if adopted the debate will be held on April 21.
