“Azerbaijani intervention was no surprise for the Defense Army and the RA Armed Forces. The troops were brought to operational readiness. The question is that in some positions we didn’t expect such a scale of operations, such an intensity of firing, while preventive measures were conducted within an occurred situation. In those specific situations our commanders and soldiers carried out a serious management, especially in the southern and northern directions, being able to control the situation and halt the adversary’s advance,” Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said at an interview with Armenian Public TV Channel.

“What happened in the course of the recent several days was a war operation which we were able to overcome due to our unity. What happened during those days had no precedent in terms of the used weapons, human resources, as well as in the legal and political terms. We are confident that commanders, soldier and the volunteers of the Defense Army showed heroism putting the ground for our current success,” Ohanyan noted.

Reflecting on the adversary’s movement over the last few days, Defense Minister said the Intelligence is working and conveying necessary data. “We track the movement of the adversary. Our Intelligence is operating and the information transmitted by them helps us among other things to conduct preventive measures.”
