Official Stepanakert: Armenian side to maintain ceasefire
Spokesperson of the President of Artsakh, Davit Babayan spoke to Panorama.am stating his opinion about the subversive operation launched by Azerbaijan on the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan on the night of April 13-14.
“It’s not the first time the adversary violates the ceasefire. I think it’s clear for everybody. We should always be ready to neutralize all these violations and attempts,” Babayan said.
According to him, the most important thing is to make sure the hostilities don’t resume, so that the peace and stability could be maintained.
“Indeed, the adversary will continue their attempts. Such destructive actions are in the nature of the enemy,” Babayan added.
The spokesperson also stressed that the Armenian side will continue maintaining ceasefire, yet he also said that any violation will be suppressed to preserve the peace and stability.
“[Maintaining ceasefire] doesn’t mean we’re going to sit and watch how they attack. Any such attempt will be suppressed,” concluded Babayan.
To remind, Azerbaijan launched hostilities on the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan and captured several positions on April 2. Yet the Armenian side managed to take back those positions and force ceasefire to the adversary.
On the initiative of the Azerbaijani side and the mediation of Russia, a ceasefire was established. During the Four Day War, the Armenian side had 92 casualties, including 4 civilians.
