Carpet production decreased by 92.1% in Armenia
Carpet production decreased by 92.1% in January – February 2016 compared to the results of the same period of the previous year.
The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (NSS) informs that in January-February of 2015, 6.3 tons of carpets and carpet coverings have been produced in the republic, for the mentioned period of this year the number is 0.5 tons.
As to knitwear production, in January-February 2016, 500.1k units have been manufactured in Armenia, compared to 537.8K units of the same period in 2015. Thus, knitwear production decreased by 7% in the republic.
According to NSS, for the indicated period only hosiery production increased. 1 592.1k pairs have been produced in January- February, 2016, compared to 536.7 k pairs manufactured for the indicated period in 2015.Thus, the production volume increased for three times.
