Armenian crayfish to be exported to EU and EEU
An epidemiological monitoring was carried out among a number of economic entities in Gegharkunik, Armavir and Ararat provinces by the initiative of the State Service for Food Safety of the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia in order to ascertain the veterinary and sanitary safety of fish and other aquatic animal products and their compliance with the sanitary and hygienic norms.
Head of the SSFS, Armen Hayrapetyan has recently visited 11 companies engaged in crayfish production in Armavir, Ararat and Gegharkunik provinces to get acquainted to the monitoring process and assist in the correction of possible violations and shortcoming.
Hayrapetyan discussed production, export, labelling and packaging related issues highlighting the importance of maintaining safety norms, as well as technological instructions.
According to the source, the entrepreneurs were presented the veterinary and veterinary-sanitary norms and requirements operating in the Republic of Armenia, European Union and Eurasian Economic Union.
It has also been noted that the quality and safety of crayfish will be the focus of such monitoring, which will contribute to unimpeded export of the Armenian crayfish to EU and EEU.
