Peter Balakian – Pulitzer Prize winner
Prose and poetry writer Peter Balakian, Armenian by nationality, received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his “Ozone Journal”, informs the official website of The Pulitzer Prizes.
“Poems that bear witness to the old losses and tragedies that undergird a global age of danger and uncertainty,” was stated in the website.
Balakian, director of creative writing at Colgate, is the author of numerous books including “The Burning Tigris: The Armenian Genocide and America’s Response”, a New York Times notable book and best seller. His memoir “Black Dog of Fate” won the PEN/Albrand Prize and was a New York Times notable book.
Balakian wrote the “Ozone Journal” in 2015.
