Armenia’s draft Electoral Code to be put into official discussion
The draft Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia, long time put in circulation, was included in the agenda of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the RA National Assembly to be held on April 22, Panorama.am was told at the press department of the National Assembly.
According to the information, the discussion to be held at the committee sitting will be the first debate over the draft document ahead of the National Assembly regular session. Before that, the document was debated within 4+4+4 format meeting, at the parliamentary hearings attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations and political forces.
Chief of RA Government Staff Davit Harutyunyan will act as the main reporter on the draft document while the chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Hovhannes Sahakyan will co-report.
In case of a positive conclusion, the proposed document will be included in the agenda of the regular session of the National Assembly.
Earlier, Hovhannes Sahakyan talked to Panorama.am and didn’t exclude possible amendments and supplements to be made in the document before submitting to the second reading.
