Hayk Martirosyan: Fruitless to resurrect dead negotiations
Political scientist, Hayk Martirosyan is sure that negotiations on Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement are ‘dead’.
“Trying to resurrect something which is already dead is not only impossible, but also fruitless and a waste of time and energy,” Martirosyan said during “The latest developments in Karabakh conflict settlement” discussion at The Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs.
Martirosyan said that when negotiating with Azerbaijan or Turkey, we should take into account that the results will never be permanent.
According to the political scientist, official Yerevan shouldn’t speak about resuming the negotiations but should declare that the process has been killed by the enemy.
“I ask my colleagues and the media not to use the term ‘adversary’ when referring to Azerbaijan, as it has a civilized and respectful meaning. We can simply use the word ‘enemy’,” he noted.
Concerning the Madrid and Kazan document, Martirosyan said they contain unfavorable basis for the Armenian side.
