Armenian Foreign Ministry reacts to Erdogan statement: Yet another failed expression of denialism
Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan commented on Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's April 24th statement, describing it as another expression of denialism. The statement issued by Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
“Turkish President’s April 24 statement is another failed expression of denialism, an explicit attempt to put the blame for the genocide committed against Armenians by the Ottoman leadership on Armenians. Turkey continues placing the war victims on par with the victims of the genocide planned at the state level.
Turkey’s denialism stance estranges the Armenian, Turkish peoples further, yet only facing the history and repentance may serve a way to overcome that,” reads the statement.
