Tatev Abrahamyan, second in U.S. Women’s Chess Championship
Tatev Abrahamyan has been leading the standings of U.S. Women’s Chess Championship, 2016 since the last round, reports chessfed.am.
However, Nazi Paikidze, who has been a serious competition for Abrahamyan, played against Women’s Chess Champion Irina Krush and defeated her with black pieces.
According to the source, the last round wasn’t very successful for Abrahamyan with Paikidze defeating Krush and her loosing since the very beginning of the game.
Thus, Abrahamyan received the silver medal with 8 points. Paikidze became the new U.S. Women’s Chess Champion.
Fabiano Caruana showed perfect results during U.S. Men’s Chess Championship, gaining 8.5 point out of 11. Wesley So and Hikaru Nakamura are the 2nd and 3rd in the standings. Varuzhan Hakobyan shares 8th – 10th places.
