Azerbaijani side violated the verbal agreement on ceasefire on the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan on the night of April 25-26, reports NKR Defense Army press service.

The adversary fired 80 times towards Armenian positions applying all types of armoured vehicles and artillery in their arsenal, particularly, 60 and 82 mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft autocannon and tank. Besides military positions, the adversary also shelled Martakert and Mataghis.

Two servicemen of the Defense Army, Tigran Poghosyan, 1992 and Aram Arushanyan, 1972 were killed during the offensive operations launched by the adversary.

NKR Defense Army shares the grief of loss and expresses its support to the families, relatives and fellow soldiers of the deceased servicemen.

Defense Army resorted to preventive operations and hit the firing positions of the adversary causing significant losses in manpower and military equipment.

At the moment, the situation along the Line of Contact is relatively calm.
