Martakert Municipality building and 25 houses damaged during adversary’s shelling, Martakert Mayor says
Martakert Municipality building and 25 houses have been damaged during the adversary’s shelling on the night of April 25-26, said Martakert Mayor, Misha Gyurjyan.
According to him, 5 houses have suffered serious damages. The windows of 20 buildings have been broken. Also, 8-10 windows and computers of the Municipality were damaged.
“We’re now inventorying the damages,” Gyurjyan said.
He also noted that at 5:00 AM local time the adversary stopped firing. The situation is calm in Martakert.
“The important thing is there are no victims and injured,” Gyurjyan said.
To remind, press secretary of NKR Prime Minister, Artak Beglaryan in his Twitter account, that: “As a result of Azerbaijan’s shelling tonight, some houses and infrastructures were damaged in Martakert town of Karabakh”.
Earlier, NKR Defense Army press service reported that Azerbaijani side violated the verbal agreement on ceasefire on the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan on the night of April 25-26. The adversary fired 80 times towards Armenian positions applying all types of armoured vehicles and artillery in their arsenal, particularly, 60 and 82 mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft autocannon and tank. Besides military positions, the adversary also shelled Martakert and Mataghis. Two servicemen of the Defense Army, Tigran Poghosyan, 1992 and Aram Arushanyan, 1972 were killed during the offensive operations launched by the adversary.
