Patrick Labaune: To attack the NKR population means to attack the Drome’s population
On April 24, Permanent Representative of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to France Hovhannes Gevorgian participated in the ceremonies dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in French towns of Valence and Bourg-Les-Valence, reports public relations department of NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Mayor of Bourg-Les-Valence Marlene Mourier, Mayor of Valence and Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council of L'Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Nicolas Daragon, Chairman and MP of the State Council of Drome Patrick Labaune, State Secretary of Department of Drome Frederick Loiseau, Senator-Mayor of Gilran-Granjie and Deputy Chairman of Armenian-French Friendship Group Mattieu Darnaut and other political leaders were present at the events.
All the speakers considered the notice of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov, addressed to the Mayor of Bourg-Les-Valence Marlene Mourier, unexpectable and condemned it. In the notice Azerbaijan threatens Marlene Mourier for the cooperation, established between Bourg-Les-Valence and Shushi, Nagorno Karabakh. In her turn Marlene Mourier stated, that she would not give in to Azerbaijan’s threats.
In his speech, Chairman and MP of the State Council of Drome Patrick Labaune publicly stated: «The NKR citizens are our sisters and brothers. To attack Nagorno Karabakh means to attack Drome. To attack the NKR population means to attack the Drome’s population. It is necessary, that France finally recognizes the Nagorno Karabakh Republic».
Conveying his regards to the people of Artsakh Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council of L'Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Nicolas Daragon emphasized, that Karabakh Armenians are legally striving to live on their land and have the right to self-determination.
