New record set during Armenian Swimming Championship
The Armenian Adults Swimming Championship is under way at “Grand Sport” Sports and Wellness Complex, reports National Olympic Committee of Armenia.
According to the source, in the second day of the championship a new Armenian record was set at the 100m dolphin kick swimming style. Record holder Garik Barseghyan overcame the distance in 59, 64 seconds. This record had belonged to Karen Sirekanyan (59, 90 seconds) since 1982.
Tatevik Baghdasaryan, Vanik Barseghyan (50m breaststroke), Ani Poghosyan, Vladimir Mamikonyan (200m freestyle), Artur Antonyan, Ani Poghosyan (50m backstroke), Levon Khachatryan, Julieta Gevorgyan (200m complex swimming), Artur Barseghyan, Julieta Gevorgyan (100m dolphin kick) were declared Armenia’s champions.
The Armenian Swimming Championship has kicked off on April 28 and will end on April 30.
