RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is on a working visit to Finland, met with the Parliament Speaker of Finland  Maria Lohela and presented the aggressive  military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan in early April as well as Armenia’s and the OSCE Minsk Group efforts to overcome the consequences of those actions, press department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.

The press statement reads that the Parliament Speaker of Finland condemned the use of force in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone a violated the violations of the International Humanitarian Law. Maria Lohela stressed that Finland univocally supports the negotiated settlement of the issue.

The interlocutors touched upon issues aimed at enhancing cooperation between Armenian National Assembly and Finland Parliament, highlighting the role of Parliamentary diplomacy as an important format for strengthening and deepening friendly relations among peoples.

Issues related to enhancing the collaboration between delegations of legislative bodies of Armenia and Finland at parliamentary assemblies of international organizations were among the topics discussed at the meeting.
