Armenia, considered a free country in terms of civic journalism, Samvel Martirosyan says
According to evaluations of freedom of the press by NGOs, Armenia is not considered a completely free country, said IT expert, Samvel Martirosyan during a press conference on May 3.
It should be noted that May 3 is celebrated as the World Press Freedom Day.
The expert reminded that according to the research of “Freedom House”, Armenia is rated as a Not Free country in terms of press. Yet, according to the research of “Journalists without Borders”, Armenia is in the middle level.
“In the reports, different sectors of media are evaluated differently. For example, in terms of internet freedom, Armenia is rated as a free country. In other words, the online and civic press is free in Armenia,” Martirosyan added.
