64 children adopted in Armenia in 2015
951 children, including 452 girls had been living in state and private orphanages in Armenia at the beginning of 2015, reports the National Statistics Service of Armenia.
According to the source, 78 children were returned to their relatives, 114 were transferred to other orphanages, 64 (including 31 girls) were adopted and 14 children died.
By the end of the year, 864 children were living in orphanages. 76 of those children were sick, 305 had mental illnesses and 469 were disabled.
The majority of children living in orphanages were above the age of 10. In 2015, there were 6 state and 2 private orphanages in Armenia.
