Fight against corruption not linked with EU money, Davit Harutyunyan says
“No one is expecting money from Mr. Switalski for the fight against corruption,” said Minister - Chief of RA Government Staff, Davit Harutyunyan during a briefing commenting on Head of EU delegation in Armenia, Peter Switalski’s statement.
“We have allocated EUR 15 million to the Armenian government for the fight against corruption. The money is not yet distributed. It’s not spent, because we are open and honest with our government partners. We need to see real results. If we don’t get the expected results the money won’t be spent, it won’t be transferred to the Government of Armenia,” Switalski said earlier during “Government – Civil Society” anticorruption conference.
Davit Harutyunyan noted that the fight against corruption ‘isn’t linked with EU money’ and it doesn’t require any money.
“The fight against corruption requires direct, in some cases perhaps extremely tough decisions, and the Prime Minister said that he has prepared certain approaches and is waiting for the response of active citizens and the public to complete the package and realize it,” Harutyunyan added.
