Armenian side proposed to hold next meeting after establishment of monitoring, President of Armenia says
During the meeting in Vienna, the Armenian side proposed to hold the next meeting after the establishment of monitoring on the Line of Contact by the Co-Chairs, President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan told the journalists on the way back to Armenia.
“We discussed that it would be better to meet in some time. We have made a constructive proposal. Since we were speaking about the establishment of monitoring by the Co-Chairs to maintain ceasefire, we suggested holding a meeting after it is already established. This will be a constructive approach by the parties,” the President said.
It should be noted, that after the meeting the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs made a joint statement.
To reduce the risk of further violence, they agreed to finalize in the shortest possible time an OSCE investigative mechanism. The Presidents also agreed to the expansion of the existing Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson in Office.
The Presidents agreed on a next round of talks, to be held in June at a place to be mutually agreed, with an aim to resuming negotiations on a comprehensive settlement.
