Necessary to consider interests of Co-Chair countries in implementing mechanisms, Tevan Poghosyan says
This process and yesterday’s meeting could be split into two phenomena; meeting and negotiation, Member of Parliament Tevan Poghosyan told the journalists concerning the meeting of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Vienna.
Tevan Poghosyan said that today the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides will make statements or provide information that will allow us see what the real result is.
“It’s exceptional that the Armenian side provides information, and the Azerbaijani side cites the Armenian websites for the first time, which is a positive trend in the overall process,” he said.
According to Poghosyan, we should realise one thing, that if we don’t manage to develop a situation where the Armenian army exceeds the Azerbaijani forces in strength, or if we don’t manage to deal with all the problems and shortcomings, this will be just another document.
The parliamentarian said that it would be interesting to find out, which one of the Co-Chairs had the most interest concerning applying mechanisms.
“If we look at this, it seems that this idea was discussed when the U.S. Co-Chair was appointed. It turns out that this idea was advocated by the American side. This is a process where we should also consider the interests of the Co-Chair countries,” he said.
