Armenian Prime Minister: Formation of the EAEU common market of particular attention
“A firm foundation of agreements is established within the Eurasian Economic Union, mechanisms of collaboration are being worked out. The coordinated work in this direction will undoubtedly positively impact the social economic development of our states, raising the competitiveness of our economies as well as the level of their involvement in the global economy,” Armenia’s Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said at a meeting with the members of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Chairman of the EEU Board Tigran Sarkissian, who have arrived to Armenia to participate in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the EEU.
According to the press statement, released by the press department of the government, at the meeting PM Abrahamyan highlighted the cooperation of the EEU with individual states, pointing out to the cooperation perspectives with China
To Abrahamyan, the legal confirmation of the EEU’s partnership with China will provide an opportunity not only increase the volume of the trade but also attract investments for implementing major infrastructure projects, diversify logistic opportunities.
With this regard, PM highlighted the works on building a Silk Road economic belt connecting Asia to Europe through different roads including through EEU states, Armenia, India, Iran to boost cooperation between the EEU and China.
To Abrahamyan, Armenia being the only state having land border with Iran and also considering its historical experience, remains ready to implement the project.
Armenian Prime Minister next highlighted the formation of the EAEU common market, which will eliminate obstacles to free movement of goods and services, boost economic cooperation among the member states. Hovik Abrahamyan emphasized the significance of the concept for establishing a common market for oil and oil products.
