Convicted women on the arena
Final day of the sport event launched since May 24 and conducting by the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs was held in “Abovyan” Penitentiary Institution of Armenian Ministry of Justice. As the press service of the Sport and Youth affairs Ministry reports, convicted women participated in the event and competed in 6 sports disciplines.
Summing up the results of the competition, Ani Tadevosyan (30 m sprint, long jump), Kristine Nersisyan (arm-wrestling), Arpine Avetyan (table tennis) and Armine Grigoryan (checkers) were named winners.
According to the report, a volleyball game was organized between the team of the convicts and the staff of the penitentiary institution won by the latter.
At the end of the event Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs Vahe Eloyan and Abovyan Mayor Vahagn Gevorgyan welcomed the participants and congratulated the winners. The latters were awarded certificates of appreciation by the ministry and presented with gifts from Abovyan Mayor’s Office.
The ministry also provided sport equipment to the penitentiary institution.
