Panorama.am – What developments will be recorded in Artsakh tourism industry after the April War?
Artak Grigoryan – Obviously, any conflict affects the tourism sphere negatively. Our region isn’t an exception. As a result of the military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan, tourism sphere was affected not only in Artsakh but also in the whole region.
Although, the fact that new prospects open for introducing the tourism product and the potential of Artsakh, should also be taken into account. In this respect, it is important to develop a favourable tourism image by influencing the negative informative background.
For example, quite recently, press spokesperson of Artsakh Prime Minister, Artak Beglaryan organized a special flash mob with the ‘Yek (Come) to Artsakh’ hashtag spreading through the social network.
This is a unique invitation, a call for the user’s friends or the public. This is another special way to invite both foreigners and compatriots to Artsakh.

Artak Grigoryan – According to preliminary data, the hotel occupancy rates have fallen compared with the previous years, but I think it can be controlled. It’s early to give any assessments, as the season has just started.
Panorama.am – What can you say to those who back up from the thought of visiting Artsakh?
Artak Grigoryan – Safety is the most important issue for any tourist. No matter how attractive the destination, it won’t be included in tourist itineraries if the simplest safety rules aren’t fulfilled. As an official in tourism industry, I can assure that the safety of tourists is guaranteed, and these are not just words, rather proved facts.

Artak Grigoryan – Besides the famous cultural and spiritual centres, unique cuisine and exceptional nature, Artsakh has another peculiarity, its villages full of residents, nice and cosy streets and unique lifestyle. Almost all the tourists say that Artsakh attracts with its residents.
