Poverty level in Armenia falls by 2%, says Minister of Labour and Social Affairs
Compared with 2015, this year the poverty level in Armenia fell by 2%, amounting to 30%, said Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Artem Asatryan during National Assembly session.
According to him, the activities of the last year were aimed at the content and testing of new systems. Particularly, the reduction of poverty level was under the focus. It resulted in reduction of poverty by 2% in 2014.
“Compared with 2014, in 2015 the pensions increased by 15%, which demanded additional money,” he said.
Asatryan noted that in terms of efficiency, the savings in the system this year were mainly directed to other social groups, families of deceased servicemen, disabled servicemen, etc.
