Organizing Formula-1 in Baku is disgrace, Davit Babayan says
“The situation on the line of contact is normal. It’s calmer now,” said Press Secretary of the NKR President, Davit Babayan during a press conference in Yerevan.
He noted that the adversary continues firing and violating the ceasefire, yet in terms of quality and quantity it can’t be compared with the situation of the previous few years.
Answering the question whether this calmness is conditioned by holding Formula-1 in Baku, Babayan said that organizing such events in Baku is simply a disgrace.
“Many times we’ve voiced that this way the international community encourages the aggressor. Holding the First European Olympic Games, UN Alliance of Civilizations Forum in a country, where they close the ‘Liberty’ radio station and the OSCE office, where they announce a murder killing a sleeping Armenian soldier a National Hero, disrespect dead bodies, elderly people, cut a serviceman’s head and show off in the villages, is a disgrace and encourages the aggressor to continue its policy. The Four Day War is somehow a consequence of that policy,” he said.
Davit Babayan also mentioned that several officials, such as the former Foreign Minister of Spain, parliamentarians from Germany and France say that Azerbaijan is the cradle of civilizations.
“We’re against such steps by the international community. It is somehow a litmus paper. Let everyone know that when you support terrorism, terrorism visits your house,” he said.
