Many believe, Aleppo shelling connected with Bundestag resolution
4 Armenians are reported dead, more than 16 injured during the shelling of New Village district of Aleppo on June 2, one of the residents, Hovik Shehiryan told Panorama.am.
Armenian Holy Trinity church and the school have been damaged.
“The shelling started after the midday. Four Armenians died during the shelling,” Hovik said.
The Armenians living in Aleppo believe that the shelling is connected with the Bundestag resolution on the Armenian Genocide. According to the residents, there are non-official sources saying that Ergodan supported the terrorists to target New Village district, where mainly Armenians live.
At this point, the situation in Aleppo is quite calm. People are busy with their daily chores.
“The school has been damaged, but it’s open, the headmaster is here. People are trying to move on,” Hovik Shehiryan described.
Answering the question whether they would like to come to Armenia, Hovik said that taken into account their current states, people cannot afford to.
However, people living among the fires don’t lose hope. They believe that this is just a result of political games, and like any war this one too will come to its end.
