Arthur Abraham comments the Bundestag resolution of the Armenian Genocide
Arthur Abraham, Armenian-German professional boxer, issued a statement about the German Bundestag resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide. As Abraham’s spokesperson Siran Grigoryan informs, the statement reads:
“As a boxer Arthur Abraham, I am proud for the fact that German Bundestag adopted on June 2 a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide. We, Armenians living in Germany, as well as numerous Armenian organizations working and individuals residing there have exerted great efforts to serve to this pan-Armenian cause over the years. That has been supposed to be the case. We should promote our struggle through all over the world aimed at the recognition, condemnation and reparation of the Armenian Genocide, making use of every floor, in my case - the boxing ring,” reads the statement.
Abraham stresses that the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide will prevent other genocidal crimes in the future and facilitate reconciliation among peoples.
“I am proud for being Armenian always and everywhere. Today, I feel that doubly, as the state I reside in, adopted a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide,” reads the statement on behalf of Abraham.
