Lavrov on why Germany recognized Armenian Genocide
The Bundestag approved resolution on recognizing the Armenian Genocide of 1915, as to Turkey is unwilling to cooperate with its partners on a number of issues, instead organizing scandals, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov told Russia's weekly news program on Rossiya 1 television channel, Sputnik News reports.
“I suppose in the end, all of it comes from Turkey’s unwillingness to be a real partner on a range of issues, from its periodic attempts to organize scandals, offend its partners, including in Europe. I think that their [Ankara’s] reaction to Bundestag’s decision is absolutely inappropriate,” he said.
According to Lavrov, Ankara’s responses on the Bundestag decision is completely inadequate.
In the meantime, he explained that Moscow doesn’t consider the approval of the resolution a signal of Europe ending ties with Turkey.
