Over 30 killed, dozens injured as car bomb blasts rock Baghdad
Two separate blasts have ripped through Iraq's capital, killing at least 31 people and injuring over 70, according to local police as https://www.rt.com/news/345938-baghdad-blast-smoke-iraq/reported by RT.
According to the source, Both Islamic State- claimed attacks come as Iraqi forces struggle to force the militants out of Fallujah, west of Baghdad.
The first and the deadliest blast was reported in Al-Jidida, an eastern district of Baghdad, on June 8 morning. A commercial street which is a majority Shiite neighborhood was targeted by a car bomb, the source details, adding at least 19 civilians were killed and 46 wounded there, the source informs citing police and medical officials.
The second blast hit near a military checkpoint to the capital’s north, in the town of Taji. At least 12 people, seven civilians and five troops among them, were killed in the attack. At least 32 people were wounded there.
