Fitch affirmed Armenia at ‘B+’ with stable outlook, Surkov says
In January 2016, Fitch Ratings affirmed Armenia's long-term foreign and local currency at 'B+' with a stable outlook, Regional Head of Russia/CIS and Black Sea Region, Fitch Ratings, Dmitri Surkov said during Fitch Ratings conference on June 8 in Yerevan.According to him, Armenia will be rated again on July 22, 2016.
Dmitri Surkov noted that the number of ratings in the region is 301, the largest being Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
“We’ve given Armenia 3 ratings, yet we hope to expand our presence,” he stressed adding that until now, Fitch has granted ratings to Ameria Bank and ArdShinBank.
Concerning holding the conference in Armenia, Dmitri Surkov said they wouldn’t be here if not for the constructive and efficient cooperation with the Central Bank of Armenia.
Surkov also noted that Fitch has a history of 100 years. At present, the company has two offices in New York and London with about 100 employees. The company provides financial solutions, research and forecasts. Besides, the company also organizes special trainings, as well as educational partnership programs.
