Levon Aronian still places 7th at Grand Chess Tour
Armenia’s chess team member Levon Aronian places only 7th after 5 rounds of the Grand Chess Tour underway in Paris, Armenia National Olympic Committee reports.
During five rounds of the rapid chess event ongoing in Paris Aronian has celebrated one victory, tied two games and lost the rest two games. Now Aronian has 4 points. Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura lead the standings.
On June 11 and 12 the GMs will compete in the blitz event.
To remind, the tournament participants are Levon Aronian, Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Vladimir Kramnik, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Hikaru Nakamura, Anish Giri, Wesley So, Veselin Topalov and Laurent Fressinet.
