Boxer Gurgen Hovhannisyan – silver medalist of European Youth Championships
Armenia’s super heavyweight Gurgen Hovhannisyan lost the final to a Russian athlete and conquered a silver medal at the EUBC European Youth Championships held in Anapa, National Olympic Committee of Armenia (ANOC) reports.
According to the source, the Armenian youth boxing team returns from the European Youth Championships with four medals – three bronze and one silver medal.
The bronze medals were conquered by Arsen Abgaryan at 49kg, Zhorzhik Marutyan at 56kg and Gurgen Madoyan at 69kg.
Armenia was represented by 9 boxers at the European Youth Championships.
